Rice flakes porridge is a quick and easy breakfast recipe.

It’s a great alternative to regular oats and is just as filling.

You can top this rice flakes porridge with anything you like. Think fresh fruits, fruit condiments such as compotes, jams, or even chopped nuts.

Rice flakes are flattened grains of rice. The rice grains are first partially boiled and then they are flattened.

Instructions

This recipe for rice flakes porridge serves 1. The ingredients can easily be adjusted to suit how many serves you need to make

Step One: In a small saucepan, place the rice flakes and milk. Place over medium to high heat and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.

Step Two: Once at a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes or until the rice flakes become soft. Serve.

Substitutions / Variations

Add a pinch of vanilla to make vanilla rice flakes porridge.

  • ¾ cup (188 ml/g) milk of choice

Instructions
