- 1 teabag black tea of choice (e.g. Assam tea, English breakfast, Earl grey)
- ½ cup (80 grams, 2.95 ounces) boba (tapioca pearls)
- ⅓ cup boiling hot water
- 3 ½ tablespoons hot chocolate powder
- 1 ½ tablespoons white sugar or more to your liking
- 1 cup milk of choice
- 1 teaspoon syrup of choice (e.g. vanilla, caramel) optional
Brew tea to your liking. (see note 1).
Cook boba (tapioca pearls) in a medium saucepan with hot water until soft or according to packet instructions. Once cooked, strain the boba and rinse under cold water. In a medium size jug combine hot water, hot chocolate mix, sugar, and syrup (if using) Stir until chocolate mix and sugar is dissolved. Taste for sweetness. If you would like it sweeter, add some sugar now. Place boba, milk, chocolate mix, and tea into a serving glass (see note 2). Stir and serve.
- A tea that is brewed for longer will have a stronger flavor. This will make the chocolate milk tea taste even nicer.
- I used 350 ml glasses.
